Supervisor Morris offered the invocation, and everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance. CONSENT AGENDA The following minutes were unanimously approved on ai motion by Supervisor Morris: August 28, 2024 Regular Meeting The August Financial reports were accepted 3-2 on a motion by Supervisor Jones. Supervisor Jones, Felts, and Easter voted in favor ofthe motion. Supervisor Morris and Robinson opposed the motion. PUBLIC COMMENTS Martin Konkel Property tax rate. William Easter Compared Summers County, WV and Goochland County to Amelia's Personal Discussed his concerns about the "tax situation". Discussed citizens' concerns about the increases. He stated that they should attend meetings and discussed that the board did what they could despite inflation and other challenges they faced. STAFF/COMMITTEFORGANZATONAL REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS A. VDOT Report: Maintenance: Smear patching and asphalt repair on Fowlkes Bridge and Fosters Lane. They've completed their second round of primary and secondary mowing. There were delays in surface treatments for the Rural Rustic Plan due to the weather, but other surface treatments will begin this week. B. School Board Dr. Harper gave a report on. Enrollment and school board activities. Appropriation Request pf$1,500 with no local match. Mr. Trump discussed the financial report. Zoning Administrator Appointment 5-0; motion passed unanimously. E. RiverStreet Update Katerina Spears provide updated information for the playground budget.
