Nizon,  Est. 1906  Nixon City Council Minutes for 4.25.2024 Special Meeting  The Nixon City Council met in Regular Session on the 25th day of April 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Members present were Mayor Dorothy Riojas, Maggie Gaytan, Ellie Dominguez, Patsy Scherrer, Pat Dingler, Tanya Torres, Jeremy Bustos, Darryl Becker, Chief Miguel Cantu, Melissa Pompa, Juanita Garza A quorum was declared present, and Madame Mayor Dorothy Riojas called the meeting to order at 5:31  Community Center 302 E. Central Ave Nixon, TX 78140.  and Odilia Garza. p.m.  Roll call was conducted. All council members were present. Justin La Fleur was absent.  The City Secretary gave the prayer. And the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America and the A motion was made by Ellie Dominguez and seconded by Maggie Gaytan to approve the Mobile Home A motion was made by Ellie Dominguez and seconded by Maggie Gaytan to approve the surplus of (3) Ford Explorers from the Police Department vehicle fleet. 2017VN#1FM5K8AR4HGB47366, 2017 VIN#1FM5K8AR8AR8HGB47368 and 2017 VIN#1FM5K8ARXHGB47369. Motion carried 5-0.  State of Texas was recited.  Variance for Raul and Juanita Garza at 305 S. Spring Ave. Motion carried 5-0.  Ar motion was made by Ellie Dominguez and seconded by Maggie Gaytan to adjourn the meeting. Motion  carried 5-0.
