REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 23, 2019 Be it remembered on the 23rd day of September 2019 at 10:01 o'clock A.M., there was Begun and Holden a Regular Meeting of the Commissioner's Court in the Courthouse, in the town of Farwell, with the following members present, To-wit: Kirk Frye Charles Wilkins Kenny White Trey Ellis Sharon May Susie Spring Absent: Casey Russell Commissioner Pct. #1 Commissioner Pct. #2 Commissioner Pct. #3 Judge County Treasurer County Clerk Commissioner Pct. #4 When the following was had and done, To-wit: Call to Order 1. Prayer Judge Ellis led the Court in prayer to begin the meeting. 2. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag The Court pledged their allegiance to the flags of the United States of America and the State of Texas. 3. Open Forum for Public Comments No members of the public were in attendance. 4. Read and Approve Minutes of the Previous Meeting Motion by White, seconded by Wilkins to approve the Minutes from the September 9, 2019 Regular Meeting. Motion passed. 5. Consider Approval and Payment of the Accounts Payable - Sharon May Sharon May reported the Accounts Payable List for September 17th and 23rd. Motion by Frye, seconded by Wilkins to approve Payment of the Accounts Payable. Motion carried. See attached. 1 6. Consider Treasurer's Report-Sharon May Motion by Wilkins, seconded by White to approve the Treasurer's Payroll Report for September 15th. Motion carried. See attached. 7. Consider correction to the 2019 Parmer County Tax Rate The General Tax Rate and Interest and Sinking Fund Tax Rate were inadvertently incorrect in the last meeting. The change does not change or affect the overall Property Tax Rate approved of 0.5492%. The correct General Tax Rate should be 0.4149% and the Interest and A motion was made by Judge Ellis to correct the Interest and Sinking Fund Tax Rate to 0.0248%, seconded by Frye. Motion passed Sinking Tax Rate should be 0.0248% unanimously. A motion was made by Judge Ellis to correct the General Tax Rate to 0.4149%, seconded by White. Motion carried unanimously. 8. Consider Re-scheduling the Commissioner's Court meeting on Monday, October 14th to Tuesday, October 15th due to the Columbus Day holiday. A motion was made by Wilkins, seconded by White to re-schedule the meeting to October 15th. Motion carried. 9. Consider Parmer County Burn Ban Upon motion by Judge Ellis, seconded by Wilkins to not go into a Burn Ban, the motion carried. 10. Consider Any and All Matters Concerning the Parmer County Law Enforcement Center Sheriff Geries reported a jail population of 14 inmates.
