REGULAR MEETING SBPTEMBER 26, 2022 Be it remembered on the 26th day of September 2022 at 10:01 o'clock A.M., there was Begun and Holden a Regular Meeting of the Commissioner's Court in the Courthouse, in the town of Farwell, with the following members present, To-wit: Trey Ellis Kirk Frye Charles Wilkins Kenny White Sharon May Susie Spring Casey Russell Eric Geske, Sheriff Izzy Carrasco Judge Commissioner Pct. #1 Commissioner Pct. #2 Commissioner Pct. #3 Treasurer County Clerk Commissioner Pct. #4 Absent: Also Present: Sid Felon, Juvenile Probation Jose Martinez, Juvenile Probation When the following was had and done, To-wit: Call to Order 1. Prayer Judge Ellis led the Court in prayer to begin the meeting. 2. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag The Court pledged their allegiance to the flags of the United States of America and the State ofTexas. 3. Open Forum for Public Comments There were no comments from the public. 4. Read and Approve Minutes from Previous Meeting Upon motion to approve the minutes from the Regular Meeting on September 12, 2022, with corrections noted, by Commissioner Frye, seconded by Wilkins, the motion passed. 1 5. Consider Approval and Payment of Accounts Payable-Sharon May Sharon May reported the Accounts Payable List for September 15th and 26th. Motion by White, seconded by Frye to approve Payment of the Accounts Payable as presented. Motion carried. See attached. 6. Consider Treasurer's Payroll Report-Sharon May Commissioner Wilkins made the motion to approve the Treasurer's Payroll Report for September 15, 2022. Commissioner White seconded and the motion passed. See attached. 7. Consider Re-Scheduling Commissioner's Court on October 10,2022 because of the Columbus Day Holiday Commissioner Frye made the motion to reschedule the meeting to October 11, 2022. Commissioner Wilkins seconded and the motion passed. 8. Consider Bond for Justice of the Peace #1 Clerk Judge Ellis reported that this person serves in the Friona Municipal Court and will perform the same duties as Michelle Agee does for Justice of the Upon motion by White to approve the bond for Marie Samarron, seconded Peace #3, here at the Courthouse. by Frye, the motion passed. 9. Consider Continuing Education Hours for Justice of the Peace #2 Upon motion from Judge Ellis to approve the 20 CEUS, seconded by Frye, the motion passed. 10. Consider Proclamation for National night Out October 4, 2022 Judge Ellis read the proposed proclamation. Upon motion from Frye, seconded by White to approve the proclamation, the motion passed. 11. Consider Vehicle for Juvenile Probation Office Mr. Felon reported that he had received approval from the Bailey County Commissioner's Court to purchase a vehicle for $35,000. Bailey County would be responsible for $14,000 and Parmer County would be The Court questioned who would pay for insurance, maintenance and gas. The Sheriff reported 24 inmates with 13 of those from Deaf Smith County. Hei reported thatyear to date he has billed Deaf Smith County $199,665.00 Hei reported that AT&T was upgrading their phones and furnishing an IPad at no cost to the County. The new AC unit is now in place on the roof of the Enforcement Center. He reported that the Sheriff's Office will be conducting a table top emergency drill with the Farwell Nursing Home.
