REGULAR MEETING MARCH 9, 2020 Be it remembered on the 9th day of March 2020 at 10:03 o'clock A.M., there was Begun and Holden a Regular Meeting of the Commissioner's Court in the Courthouse, in the town of Farwell, with the following members present, To-wit: Kirk Frye Charles Wilkins Kenny White Trey Ellis Sharon May Susie Spring Casey Russell Commissioner Pct. #1 Commissioner Pct. #2 Commissioner Pct. #3 Judge County Treasurer County Clerk Commissioner Pct. #4 Absent: When the following was had and done, To-wit: Call to Order 1. Prayer Commissioner Frye led the Court in prayer to begin the meeting. 2. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag The Court pledged their allegiance to the flags of the United States of America and the State of Texas. 3. Open Forum for Public Comments No members of the public were in attendance. 4. Read and Approve Minutes of the Previous Meeting Motion by Frye, seconded by Wilkins to approve the Minutes from the February 24, 2020 Regular Meeting. Motion passed. 5. Consider Approval and Payment of the Accounts Payable - Sharon May Sharon May reported the Accounts Payable List for March 3rd and 9th Motion by Wilkins, seconded by White to approve payment of the Accounts Payables as presented. Motion carried. See attached. 1 6. Consider Treasurer's Report-Sharon May Motion by Frye, seconded by White to approve the Treasurer's Payroll Report for February 28th. Motion carried. See attached. 7. Consider Janitorial Contract for JP Pct. #1 and DPS office. Prior to the meeting this morning, the person considered for the contract decided not to accept the job. As a result, Commissioner Frye made a motion to table the issue until someone can be found to clean the offices. Commissioner White seconded and the motion passed. 8. Consider Any and All Matters Concerning the Parmer County Law Enforcement Center Sheriff Geries reported a total of 27 total inmates. He also reported that he was looking into cost for a new generator as PRPC is offering us a $25,000 grant to replace our old generator. He will He demonstrated two bullet proof vests that were received due to a grant from the state and also from the DOJ. One is an "every day" vest for revolver fire and one is a heavy duty made to repeal rifle fire. He also informed the Court of the Weather Spotter class set up by John Gurley on March 26th at the Bovina XIT building at 6:30 pm. report his findings back to the Court for a decision.
