REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 14, 2019 Be it remembered on the 14th day of. January 2019 at 10:00 o'clock A.M., there was Begun and Holden a Regular Meeting of the Commissioners Court in the Courthouse, in the town of Farwell, with the following members present, To-wit: Kirk Frye Kenny White Trey Ellis Susie Spring Commissioner Pct. #1 Commissioner Pct. #3 Judge County Clerk The following Commissioners were absent due to ai meeting in Austin: Charles Wilkins Casey Russell Commissioner Pct. #2 Commissioner Pct. #4 Also present were Glenn Reeve and Altha Harrington. When the following was had and done, To-wit: Call to Order 1. Prayer Commissioner White led the Court in prayer to begin the 2. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag meeting. The Court pledged their allegiance to the flags of the United States of America and the State of' Texas. 3. Consider Bids for New Pickup for the Extension Office The Court considered three bids with Glenn Reeve presenting the bid from Stevens 5 Star. After discussion and comparison of the three bids, motion by Frye, seconded by White to accept the bid from Stevens. Motion carried unanimously. See attached bids. 4. Read and approve Minutes from Previous Meeting Motion by White, seconded by Frye to approve the Minutes from the previous meeting upon correction of the typo. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Consider Approval and Payment of Accounts Payable - Sharon May Accounts payable were presented from both the 2018 year ending and the 2019 invoices. Motion by Frye, seconded by White to approve the Payment of Bills/Accounts as presented by Ms. May. Motion carried unanimously. See attached. 6. Consider Treasurer's Report - Sharon May Motion by Frye, seconded by White to approve the monthly Treasurer's report. Motion carried unanimously. See attached. (A) Approve Calculated Payroll and Disbursement for all Parmer County Motion by White, seconded by Frye to approve the Calculated Payroll and Disbursement for all County Employees and Elected Officials. Consider appointment of Richard Villarreal as Veteran's Service Officer After discussion, Motion by Judge Ellis to appoint Richard Villarreal as Veteran's Service Officer. Seconded by White. Motion carried unanimously. 8. Consider the 2019 Holiday Schedule After discussion Motion by White, seconded by Frye to approve the 2019 holiday Schedule. Motion carried unanimously. See attached. 9. Draw names to appoint the 2019 Salary Grievance Committee Commissioners drew names from the previous Grand Jury Pool. Nine names were drawn with two alternates. See attached for names drawn. Consider approval of bond for Deputy Clerk in the County Clerk's Office. Motion by White, seconded by Frye to approve the bond for Esmerelda Vazquez, Deputy Clerk. Motion carried unanimously. Bond will be filed in the County Clerk's Office. 11. Consider Any and All Matters Concerning the Parmer County Law Enforcement Center Sheriff Geries reported that there are 44 inmates currently. 28 are from Castro County or Deaf Smith and are billing inmates. He reported his attendance for continuing education for Public He reported that the Jail is due for an inspection at any time. He stated that they have passed the Fire Inspection, Updated the menu, and sent the TB Plan to the State Department of Health. The State Department of Health are due to inspect the kitchen. All of the above are requirements prior to the anticipated inspection. He stated that deputies would be enforcing school bus red lights and stop signs as a priority. He discussed an accident last week involving multiple vehicles due to running into a stopped vehicle Information and Open Records. behind a school bus.
