REGULAR MEETING JUNE 28, 2021 Be it remembered on the 28TH day ofJune 2021 at 10:03 o'clock A.M., there was Begun and Holden a Regular Meeting of the Commissioner's Court in the Courthouse, in the town of Farwell, with the following members present, To-wit: Kirk Frye Charles Wilkins Kenny White Casey Russell Sharon May Susie Spring Trey Ellis Commissioner Pct. #1 Commissioner Pct. #2 Commissioner Pct. #3 Commissioner Pct. #4 County Treasurer County Clerk Judge Absent: When the following was had and done, To-wit: Call to Order 1. Prayer Commissioner Frye led the Court in prayer to begin the meeting. 2. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag The Court pledged their allegiance to the flags of the United States of America and the State ofTexas. 3. Open Forum for Public Comments No members of the public were present. 4. Read and Approve Minutes of the Previous Meeting Upon reading of the Minutes of the last meeting, on a motion by White, seconded by Russell to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting on June 14, 2021, the motion passed. 5. Consider Approval and Payment of the Accounts Payable - Sharon May Sharon May reported the Accounts Payable List for June 21st and 28th. Motion by Russell, seconded by Wilkins to approve payment of the Accounts Payables as presented. Motion carried. See attached. 1 6. Consider Treasurer's Payroll Report-Sharon May Motion by Wilkins, seconded by White to approve the Treasurer's Payroll Report for June 15, 2021. Motion carried. See attached. 7. Consider Any and All Matters Concerning the Parmer County Law Enforcement Center. Sheriff Geries requested to move funds from his Forfeiture account to a Crime Prevention Operating Fund. He is proposing to move $1500 to pay Upon motion to approve the movement of these funds by Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Russell, the motion passed. The Sheriff discussed the issues with moving the old generator to the Court House. The cost of the project has greatly increased and he asked the Commissioners if they wanted to pursue this or to dispose of the generator by selling or giving to another government entity. The issue was discussed and Commissioner Russell made a motion to further research the issue to include perhaps trading for a smaller generator for the Court House. Commissioner Wilkins seconded and the The Sheriff also informed the Commissioners: of a leak in the street behind the old, old jail. Upon further investigation it appears this has some impact on the Court House. When the valve was turned off to stop the leak; it also stopped the water on the second floor in Judge Green's area. This will need to be researched and the cost associated with The Sheriff reported 25 inmates with 2 from Deaf Smith County. He reported that the Jail inspection and the records inspection from the The Sheriff has been serving on the Board of the Panhandle Community Services organization and request the Commissioners to formalize that by appointing him as representative from Parmer County. Upon motion from White to appoint the Sheriff as representative of Parmer County on the Board of the Panhandle Services Community Organization, seconded for various crime prevention projects. motion passed. repairing the plumbing lines determined.
