Thursday, March 28, 2024, Special Meeting 6:30 PM  The City Council oft the City ofRobert Lee, Texas met in Regular Session at the City Hall at 6:31 p.m.  Present:  Mayor Jason Moran Council Members: Josh Tennison, Mike Stephens, Steven Arens,  Brantly Robertson, Jonathan Torres.  Proclamations and Presentations Consent Agenda Regular Agenda  A. 10-24 Resolution for AEP Rate Change Request - 1st & Final Reading  Discussion: AEP has submitted ai request to the Public Utilities Commission to increase system-wide distribution rates by 100.4 million dollars (or 13.1%) per year and increase transmission rates by 63.10 million dollars (or by 9.29%). This would ultimately increase each customer's rates by an average of $4.59 per month if approved by the Public Utilities Commission. This resolution is in opposition to the request and authorizes the hiring ofThomas Brocato ofI Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle and Townsend, P.C, and consultants to review the Company's filing, negotiate with the Company, make recommendations regarding reasonable rates, and direct any necessary administrative proceedings or court litigation associated with an appeal of city action. Motion by Council Member! Brantly Robertson to approve Resolution 10-24, allowing the City ofRobert Lee toj join other cities in opposition to the request for the rate change and negotiate for more: reasonable rates.
