Mayor Pro Tem Dufford recessed the meeting to go into Closed Session at! 5:33 p.m. 5. Reconvene into Regular Session and take any actions necessary because of the Closed Session. Recognition and swearing in of new Police Officers Lieutenant. Joe Sippl introduced new Police Officers Charly Sandoval and Gregory Churchill. Mayor Pro Tem Dufford performed a swearing in of the officers who then had their badges pinned by their City Secretary Vaughn reported that the Oak Point Community Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, Frank Sudduth, 940 Sapphire Ridge, addressed the Council to request a change in the City Code of Ordinances to allow Recreational Vehicles to be occupied in the City for longer than currently allowed. wives. 7. Report from Council Liaison Mayor Pro Tem Dufford reported that there was a discrepancy with the bid that the consultants had put out for the pickleball courts, sO the request for bids was withdrawn and a corrected one was published. Brad Harris, staff coordinator for PARC, is looking fora a consultant who willl help with the design phase for the boat ramp grant. The kayak launch was replaced and willl be installed int the Spring. PARC is contemplating: ai tree carving to be made from a dead tree in the Council Member Weiler reported that the EDC willl hold aj joint meeting with the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission on October 22nd. EDC has expressed their desire to have more regular communication and reporting from. Jason Claunch, Catalyst. Consider and act upon the minutes fori the August 5, 21, and 28, 2024 City Council Meetings. Council Member Lusk requested that Item 11 be pulled from the Consent Agenda for discussion. Council Member Lusk noted that the Vote on Item 12 of the August 21st minutes needed to be corrected. Council Member Lusk made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 5, 21, and 28th minutes with 12. Consider and act to approve pulling the bid for the Pickleball Courts and authorize republishing of the Council Member Lusk made a motion to approve Item 12 as presented; motion seconded by Council The correction noted; motion seconded by Council Member Bastaich. City Manager Ashley explained the need to ratify the property tax.
