CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 2024 The City of Lake Wales Code Enforcement Board held an in person meeting on September 9, 2024 at 5:34 p.m. inj the City Commission Chamber located in the City Administration Building. Ms. Hammel who is an alternate was not in 3) EXPLANATION OF PROCEDURES - Chairperson Mr. Wilson explained the procedures for the meeting and read the pledge of Civility as posted on the public podium. 4) APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Regular Meeting - August 12, 2024 Mr. Wilson asked for a motion to approve the minutes. Mr. Marino made a motion to approve the minutes. Ms. Jones seconded the motion. Mr. Wilson administered the oath to Ms. Lozano 5.2 Mr. Wilson gave the floor to Ms. Lozano sO that she may take nominations for the Chairperson position. Ms. Lozano explained the responsibilities of both the Chairperson and' Vice-Chairperson. Ms. Lozano requested nominations for Chairperson. Mr. Marino nominated Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson accepted the nomination. Mr. Gibson seconded the nomination. All voted ini favor. The motion passed unanimously. Mr. Wilson declared Ms. Lozano gave the floor back to Mr. Wilson sO that he may take nominations for the Vice-Chairperson position. Mr. Marino nominated Mr. Bennett. Mr. Bennett expressed that he accepts the nomination but that he is being considered to be appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board. Ms. Jones seconded the nomination. All voted in favor. There was no one int the audience who made comments or petitions. 9) BOARDISTAFF COMMENTS/OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Gibson stated that he appreciated the mowing that recently happened on Highway Mr. Bennett stated that the reason that he made the comments about disabled veterans on the earlier case was because people should not use that as an excuse to not be in Mr. Wilson stated that he appreciates Mr. Marino being on the Board and providing his service. Mr. Wilson welcomed Mr. Bennett as the Vice-Chairperson and stated that he is sure that Mr. Bennett's expertise can be used on the Planning Board, but maybe they will have him as an add hog member. Mr. Wilson thanked the Board and stated that this Board has one of the toughest jobs and that what this Board does is great.
