Stréam Crossing Though townships may not traditionally be seen as river management entities, they often play a crucial role in this area due to the frequent intersections of roads and streams and their responsibility for maintaining these structures. Managing these waterways presents a challenge, especially given the constraints oflimited budgets andi insufficient technical resources: available tor roadn managers. Conducting astream crossing inventoryi isav vital first stepi in enabling our Town to manage infrastructure sustainably. Bye evaluating andi identifying high-priority: sites, we can make strategici improvements that enhance water qualitya and providel long-term cost savings through flood-resilient roadways. Thisi is particularlyi important in light of the increased frequency and intensity of local rainfall events caused by changes in the local climate, as well as the significant flood damage experienced in Wisconsin over the past decade. Our Township supports the Lincoln County Land Services Department in their efforts to secure a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Surface Water Grant for conducting stream crossing assessments across the County. The outcomes oft this project would bel highly beneficial to our Town.
