Eisenhower signed the bill into law for this day "to honor veterans...a WHEREAS, observances are held throughout the Country to salute and honor our Nation's heroes; WHEREAS, various organizations exist to help veterans and their families in time of need, to support measures to promote the welfare and security of the Country, and to support patriotic and moral values holiday to Veterans Day; and day dedicated to world peace"; and and through special school, hospital, and civic programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Rockingham is proud of all our veterans and wholeheartedly supports the men, women, and their families who have served our Nation in past wars as well as those serving today; and WHEREAS, the slogan "All gave some, some gave all" brings to our hearts the importance of never NOW, THEREFORE, I, John P. Flag Football - This past summer when this program was initiated we had approximately one hundred players in two leagues. That now has increased by 25% and we've grown to three The Leagues are playing games at Civitan Park due to the lighting situation at Browder Park. Weather permitting we should conclude regular season and tournament play around Girls' Volleyball - This program begins its ninth season Thursday, November 3rd with one hundred and thirty young ladies participating in three different age groups. This program continues to grow as that number represents an approximate 20% increase from last year's Browder Park - Extensive site preparation continues in the area that once housed the tennis courts at this facility. All of this work is being performed "In House" by public works director Lee Parrish and various crews from his department. These are talented individuals and their Youth Basketball - Registration for this program begins Monday, November 7th. leagues and one hundred and twenty-five participants. November 18th. enrollment. All games are played at Browder Park. assistance is invaluable to our department.
