Massey, Jr., Assistant City Manager Date: June 30, 2020 Re: Opportunity to Purchase Property - 110 Byrd Drive - 4.1 acres Over the last 35 years, the City has purchased properties along Byrd Drive as they became available to provide buffers around the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant and to eventually limit access via Byrd Drive. The property located at 110 Byrd Drive and identified as Richmond County PIN 7462-01-39-6160 has been vacant for years and is now in an obvious state of disrepair. The building located on the property is the former New Life Tabernacle Church. City staff contacted the property owner and negotiated a purchase price of $7,500. City staff recommends the City Council authorize the purchase of the 4.1 acres at 110 Byrd River for $7,500. If approved, City staff will remove the dilapidated building A map is attached illustrating the location of the subject property as well as the other City-owned properties along Byrd Drive. As indicated on the map, the subject property is one of two remaining from the property. properties not owned by the City along Byrd Drive. 514 Rockingham Road, Rockingham, NC 28379 Phone (910)895 9088 Fax (910) 997 6617 www.gorockingham.com DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITY REPORTS for COUNCIL'S INFORMATION Ar FIRECHIEF HAROLDI ISLER ADMIN.ASST.
