ORDER OF BUSINESS The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners met in Regular Session on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. ini the meeting room att the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center with Mayor Kyle Shipp presiding. The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. Mayor Shipp requested a moment of silence with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance led by Elected Town Officials Present: Mayor Kyle Shipp, Mayor Pro Tem Pamela Baldwin, Commissioners John Bonitz, Jay Town Staff Present: Town Manager Jonathan Franklin, Assistant Town Manager/Director of Engineering Kent. Manager Updates Assistant Town Manager/Director of Engineering Kent. Jackson provided updates to the Board. Mayor and Board members gave updates on the committees and boards on which they serve. 7. Annexation Petition: Chatham Parkl Investors, LLC A-2024-03, PB-24-294 Mayor Pro Tem Baldwin made a motion to open public hearing, seconded by Commissioner Farrell. Aye-5 Nay- 0 Planning Director Randy Cahoon-Tingle presented the item to the Board. There were no speakers signed up for public comment. Commissioner Bonitz made a motion to exit public hearing, seconded. by Commissioner Vose. Aye-5Nay-0 Mayor Pro Tem Baldwin made a motion to approve the annexation request for voluntary contiguous annexation petition A-2024-03/PB-24294, seconded by Commissioner Foley. Aye-5 Nay-0 11. ACTION ITEMS 11.1. Request: US 15-501 Truck Route Reassignment Assistant Town ManagerEngineering Director Kent. Jackson presented thei item tot the Board. Commissioner Foley made a motion to authorize the Town Manager to enter a municipal agreement with NCDOT to reassign the US 15-501 truck route to NC 87 and to approve the associated $125,000.00 project cost match, seconded. by Commissioner Bonitz. Aye-5 Nay-0 11.11. Budget/ Amendment: Truck Route Signage Commissioner Farrell made a motion to approve the budget ordinance amending the FY: 2024-2025 operating budget for truck route signage, seconded by Commissioner Vose. Aye-5Nay-0 11.111. Request: Downtown Events-Adminstrative Coordinator Commissioner Farrell made a motion to approve the proposed Downtown Events Administrative Coordinator position description and salary grade, seconded by Commissioner Bonitz.
