Sept 12, 2024  Council Meeting City of Adairsville 116 Public Sq Adairsville, Ga 30103  MINUTES  Present for the meeting: Mayor Kenneth Carson Mayor Pro Tem Lee Castro Councilmember Alan Towe Councilmember Erwin Holcomb Councilmember Brandey Jenkins  Also Present: City Manager, Pam Madison; Police Chief Mike Jones; City Clerk, Lisa  Donald  Call to Order - Mayor Carson called the meeting to order at 7:01 P.M. Councimember Jenkins made motion to approve agenda. Councimember Holcomb seconded the motion.  Approve Agenda  Mayor Carson - Yes Mayor Pro Tem Castro - Yes Post 1, Towe = Yes Post 2, Holcomb - Second - Yes Post 4, Jenkins - Jenkins - Yes Motion passes unanimously 5-0  Citizens wishing to speak - Justin & Conner Guy, owners of Gateway Pinball Arcade, located at 6103 JFH Pkwy., addressed the Council. They requested an ordinance change to allow alcohol be served in their establishment. Requesting the 51% food revenue requirement be amended to allow a 51% entertainment A discussion was made regarding the attraction to children that arcades bring. Justin Guy responded that they would have alcohol free nights for children. Mr. Mrs. Madison clarified the ordinance for downtown businesses in response to Justin citing the ordinances for downtown businesses in comparison to his located-  requirement. They responded they don't want to have the expense of buying all the needed equipment and hiring kitchen staff. Justin further stated he has asked the Mayor Pro Tem Castro said in his opinion, the alcohol is not an issue but ifwe make exceptions for you, we will have to make it for everyone, but he would  customers, and they want them to serve alcohol.  give it some consideration.
