Approval of Utilities Back Flow Policy The purpose of the Backflow/Cross Connection policy is to define the authority of the Pasquotank County Utilities Department Water System as the water purveyor in the elimination of all cross connection within its potable water supply. The first draft oft the Backflow/Cross Connection policy was presented to the Utilities Committee in July. There were a few language adjustments made to the policy, and the Utilities Committee recommended approval of the policy on September 16, 2024. The Finance Committee has recommended approval of the Back Flow Policy. 3 F. Approval of Increasing Utilities Employee Shoe Allowance Currently, Pasquotank County Utilities has a $125.00 per year work shoe allowance for all operators and field staff. The work shoe allowance has not been increased for an extended period and the $125.00 allowance will no longer cover the current cost of work shoes. The Utilities Committee recommended increasing the shoe allowance to $175.00 per year. The Finance Committee has recommended approval of request. G. Approval to Waive Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Tip Fees for the NCDOT The Solid Waste/Landfil Committee has recommended approval to waive MSW tip fees for the NCDOT for roadside litter. 8.
