Council Member Diehl stated he wants tol hear from citizens, children, and schools about Charlie Boone, 468 Sunset, Ingleside on thel Bay, Texas, passed out al handout to Council, statedl hel hada al list ofquestions that he would like Council to ask Enbridge, stated that there is no on going monitoring or ammonia monitoring in the state ofTexas, and said ifthere is Tim Doty, 309 Barberry Park, Driftwood, Texas, representative for the Ingleside on the Bay Coastal Watch Association, stated that he thought that Enbridge would be making a presentation tonight, spoke about seeing a representative from Flint Hills doing an air quality check from left over odors from the recent spill they had, and stated that ifit was ammonia, it would be more catastrophic. The aim of the "End the Streak" safety campaign is to reduce the number of daily deaths on Texas roadways and TxDOT representative Robert) Isassi provided handouts to the Council of his presentation. Representative Isassi stated TxDOT was reaching out to communities about facts of fatalities, statewide crashes and injuries by County, San Patricio County having at total of 1,218 crashes with 181 being fatalities, TxDOTI has pledged $17B towards fixing roadways to prevent crashes and fatalities, studies being done and widening the striping to help prevent fatalities. Representative Isassi stated that half of roadway deaths are from not wearing seat belts, and that at total of 83,000 lives were lost to roadway crashes.
