CITY OF COOPER  PUBLICHEARING #1 TAXI RATE ABOVE EFFECTIVE RATE  SEPTEMBER9 9, 2021-5:00PM  COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: DARREN BRADDY; MAYOR, DAVID PHILLIPS, ALLEN FOSTER, AMANDA OTHERS PRESENT: EMILY HOWSE, DONNAT THOMASON, MELISSA ADAMS REBEKKA SMITH, KELLEY TRAPP, BILLPEEK, KRISTY PEEK, KEVIN CARTER, LINDA BARNES, DEAN. JOHNSON AND KASEY BRITTON CITYATTORNEY, JAY GARRETT WAS ABSENT AND COUNCILMAN ELMO ROBINSON WAS ABSENT Mayor Darren Braddy called the public hearing to order and Darren also voiced the prayer and opened Darren went over the proposed budget in detail. There was much discussion on animal control, street issues, code enforcement, rotating volunteer fire department possibilities for Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the possibility of creating a city police department. Several concerned citizens spoke in detail ofi issues of concern on each topic. Darren elaborately described each and every concern. Darren stated that he was pleased that concerned citizens were in attendance and welcomed them and theiri input. Darren stated that he was not trying to please everyone, "that will never happen", but he Darren asked ift there were any more questions from the citizens present, hearing none, the public  L'ESPERANCE, AND DIANE STEGALL VIA ZOOM.
