JOSH SKEEN AGENDA ITEM# #1 Mayor Darren Braddy opened the 2nd public hearing on the tax rate above effective rate. First off, Darren clarified statements that were statedi in the first public hearing that were personally directed at the volunteer Fire Chief, Tanner Crutcher, that he was not qualified as a peace officer and Darren stated that we needed to go above the effective rate in order to get the daytime rotating fire department funded. There was much discussion of creating a city police force and/or the rotating fire department. Darren stated that the rotating fire department made more sense for now because there are too many' variables pertaining to a city police that can't be done or funded at this time. Amanda L'Esperance stated that ift the city did not go with the city police option, then the city should go with the effective rate and find the money for the rotating fire department within the effective rate budget.
