Stagecoach Road Salado, Texas Minutes of Regular Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting July 9, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Commission Members Present: Jim Lassiter, Bev Turnbo, Ron Cunningham, and Robert Schwindt (Alternate). Members absent: Lennox Alfred and Jeff McClure. Staff Present: Village Administrator Manny De Lal Rosa, City Planner Gina Pence. Chairman Jim Lassiter. 1. 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS No Public Comments DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION A. Consideration and possible action to approve Meeting Minutes of June 25, 2024. Minutes were approved by unanimous consent. B. Discussion on updating the Comprehensive Plan. Mr. De La Rosa shared the importance of updating the Comprehensive Plan. He encouraged the commissioners to share any input they may have with him. He shared the 2019 plan. Chairman Lassiter would like to have a workshop to discuss the plan. Commissioner Tumbo questioned using the red trolley on the west side. Mr. De La Rosa said that is a legal question but he feels the carts are best used on the East side. Chairman Lassiter thanked Commissioner Turnbo for her input on the plan so far. C. Discussion and possible action on proposed IH-35 West Side Overlay District amending Zoning Ordinance. Chairman Lassiter said he would like to hold off on any action on this matter until all members are, present. Maps were provided by Mr. De La Rosa. He explained details of the maps and asked for input on what boundaries should be used for the overlay. Discussion included future expansion, setback lines, buffers, and roadways. Mr. De La Rosa explained in detail the city limits boundaries. Possible future building restrictions were also discussed.
