REGULAR SESSION September23, 2024  PAGE1  Notice is hereby given that a Public Meeting was held on September 23, 2024, at the Garrison City Hall. Members present were Mayor Keith Yarbrough, Mayor Pro Tem Arnie Kelley, Darrell Lunsford, Hope Hallmark, and Travis Simon. Tim Wright was absent. Others present were Jack Brown and Jenny  Frederick.  Mayor Keith Yarbrough called the meeting to order at 5:07 P.M.  Jack Brown led in prayer.  Mayor Yarbrough opened a public hearing regarding the 2024 proposed tax rates. There were no visitors orconcerns. Mayor Yarbrough closed the public hearing regarding the 2024 proposed tax rates. Hope Hallmark made a motion to adopt the proposed tax rates of $0.29724 per $100 of value at a 3.5% Jack Brown informed the council the electrical wires on the city square were deteriorating, and some outlets are not receiving enough power on the South side of the square near the gazebo. The concrete should not have to be cut. Discussion ensued. It will be quicker and more efficient for an electrician to rewire the area. Arnie Kelley made a motion to accept the bid from JLC Electrical Contractor for $1900to Travis Simon made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Darrell Lunsford seconded.
