(817)441-5770 City Council Meeting Minutes The City Council met in a scheduled meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Annetta Town Hall at 450 Thunder Head Lane to consider the following agenda: I. II. Call to order. Mayor Pro Tem Kent Stasey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Alegance/Invocation of Prayer. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey led the pledge and Council Member Jim Causey gave thei invocation. III. Roll call/Quorum check. A quorum check revealed that Mayor Pro Tem Stasey and Council Members, Danny Coffman and Jim Causey were all present. Mayor Sandy Roberts and Council Member Shane Mudge were absent. Also present was. Jamee Long, City ecretaly/AGminstrator. IV. Public Comments: There were no public comments. V. Consent Items: Reports from City Staff and Commission or Committees: a. Consider the approval of Minutes from the Regular City Council Meeting on August 15, 2024. b. Public' Works Report. Financial Report. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey confirmed there is a quorum at the meeting with three City Council members. Council Member Coffman moved to accept the consent items, Council Member Causey: seconded the motion, witha all aye. Council Member Causey: stated that the financials are on track and we will not need budget amendments this September. Motion passed unanimously. VI. New Business: a. Administer Oath of Office to Brandon Thompson - Council Member Place 3. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey stated that Brandon Thompson was unable to attend tonight's meeting but will be sworn inj prior to the b. Discussion and Action: Consider authorizing the Mayor Pro Tem to issue a proclamation for the Town of Annetta to proclaim October 5, 2024 as World" Teachers' Day. Council Member Causey moved to authorize the Mayor Pro Tem to issue a proclamation fort the Town of Annetta to proclaim October! 5, 2024 as World October 17 regular meeting. 1 Teachers' Day, Council Member Coffman seconded the motion, with alla aye. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey read Discussion and Action: Consider an expenditure for propane tanks, installation and propane at Lakes of Aledo and' Water Plant 4. Ms. Long stated that the generators have been installed at these water plants and we now need propane tanks and propane. Council Member Coffman moved to approve an expenditure for propane tanks, installation and propane at Lakes of Aledo and Water Plant 4, Council Member Causey seconded the motion, with all aye. Mayor Pro Tem stated that these generators are beingi installed due to the Town's Emergency Preparedness Plan. Motion passed unanimously. d. Announced winner of children's! book contest. This month'sbook, The Day the Crayons Came Home, was the proclamation. Motion passed unanimously. won by the residents of 188 Deer Creek Drive. VII. Old Business: a. Discussion and Action: Consider an ordinance amending the Drought Contingency Plan. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey discussed the customer portalt Ithati is being developed by Zenner. CouncilMember Coffmanmoved to table this item until the October 17, 2024 regular City Council meeting, Council Member Causey seconded the motion, with all aye. Citizen, Bob McCann, recommended a presentation regarding irrigation and conservation prior to next summer's high consumption season. Mayor Pro Tem stated that the Town will remain proactive and continue to have good communication with the Town's water customers. Motion passed unanimously. VIII. Items of Community Interest. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey discussed the passing of Dennis Thompson. He stated that Dennis was al big supporter of City Council and the Town of Annetta. He stated that hei is grateful for the work that Dennis did for the Town. Mayor Pro Tem Stasey discussed the annual Mayors' Food Drive coming up and stated that bags will be available at Town Hall. He stated that the Mayor's Second Annual Seed Ball Event that will take place on October 26 from 9:00 a.m. until noon at Annetta Town Hall. He reminded everyone about the upcoming Halloween photo contest and the categories thisy year. He: statedthattomorrow, isA Aledo Bearcat Homecoming and hopes that everyone will come out and support the Bearcats. IX. Executive Session: As authorized by Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, the City Council reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss the following: a. $551.074. Deliberation regarding personnel matters. The City Council may convene in executive session to deliberate the: appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal ofap public officer or employee including deliberation regarding the following officers or employees: 1. Water/Wastewater Operators Executive session began at 7:22 p.m. and ended at 7:27 p.m. No action was taken. X.
