Tolley Gwinn Thomas Carter Carolyn Barrett APublic Hearing oft the Town Council was held on September 9, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Tappahannock Municipal Building, 915 Church Lane, Tappahannock,' VA. The hearing was advertised int the Rappahannock' Times int three editions August 7,2024, August 28, 2024, and September 4, 2024,as COMMERCIALI ENTRANCE & ACCESS ROAD- - OLD CAPTAINTHOMAS The purpose oft the public meeting is tol hear public comments forai new proposed commercial entrance off of Route 17(Tappahannock Blvd.) and access road int the Town of Tappahannock. This project will construct a commercial entrance off of Route 17(Tappahannock Blvd.) and recreational access road to Hoskins Creek Park, formerly the Captain Thomas River cruise property. The commercial entrance will be located directly across Route 171 from the existing Exxon gas station. The entrance will bes served by ar newly constructed taper approximately 75 tin length for north boundt traffic and an existing left hand turn lane for south bound traffic. Ther recreational access road willl be approximately 400' andt terminate ata cul-de-sac, approximately 75'i in diameter to provide access tot the Hoskins Creek Park dock andl kayak launch. Approximately! 200 ofs sidewalk will be placed around the cul-de-sac. The sidewalk is planned to be approximately 7 wide. Pavement markings ands signage will be a part oft this required by Section 15.2-2506 oft the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended. PROPERTY project.
