PUBLIC COMMENT Members of the public spoke during the public comment period, including Carl Bay. 3. PRESENTATION a) Check Presentation Page 1 of5 LHRT awarded grant checks to two local small businesses, ATIS Solar and STG Restaurant. Kevin Greiner oft the FIU by Design Consultant Team Planning provided a status update on the strategic plan for the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust. This plan, referred to as the "playbook," b) FIU by Design Presentation isa comprehensive, long-term guide to ensure the Trust's success. Strategic Plan Focus: The playbook goes beyond a typical strategic plan. It includes a funding and spending plan to address the limited and time-sensitive funding available to the Trust. The air conditioning project for the theater and classrooms is delayed but expected to be completed by November 1st. Jose Perez, Capital Improvements Director provided updates regarding roofing workisu underway with the contractors returning tot fixl leaks in the temporary covering during heavy rain. Drainage work also underway, with full project completion anticipated by the third week of November. Additional improvements include upgrading restrooms with Assistant Director, LaClevia Morley provided updates on the Marketplace reopening on October 5th, followed by the first Food Truck Festival to coincide with Carnival. An Industry Day will be held on October 3rd to help local businesses become official vendors for the City of Miami. The Little Haiti Cultural Center Strategic Planning Meeting is scheduled for next hands-free fixtures and replacing the dance floor and cabinetry. Page 2 of5 Tuesday to discuss future programming based on community feedback. d) Dupuis Building within Magic City Innovation District - Planning Department Shawn Wilt, Vice President of Plaza Equity, and Richard Heisenbottle, Architect presented reconstruction plans fori thel historic Dupuis building within the Magic City Innovation District. They addressed previous comments from the City, community, and board while adhering to the Secretary of the Interior's standards for preservation. Key aspects include: Building Relocation: Due to City requirements, the building had to be moved 10 feet back fromi its original location, and significant reconstruction is needed. Restoration Plans: The aim is to maintain historical accuracy, with features like masonry blocks and pressed metal panels being faithfully recreated using original New Additions: A rooftop terrace and trellis are proposed, which align with modern standards but are designed to be visually distinct from the historic structure.
