CITY COUNCIL TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 28, 2024  1. CALL TO ORDER  Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 7:06 a.m. in the City Hall Community Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City.  2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT:  Councimember - Chen, Man, Sternquist, Chavez  Councimember-Yu Safety Supervisor Amaya  ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook and Community Services and Public  Captain Meza, Deputy Bui, and Deputy Anchondo  Councimember Man made a motion to excuse Mayor Pro Tem Yu. Seconded by  Councimember Chen. 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None 5. NEW BUSINESS - None 6. COMMUNICATIONS A. QUALITY OF LIFE  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the sex offender registrants, paroles, Councimember Sternquist requested staff bring back an agenda items detailing the budget usage for Law Enforcement Services during city events City Manager Cook commented that he would bring that item to City Council  and probationers in the city for the month of July 2024.  and patrol overtime.  during the fourth quarterly budget discussion.  B. OPERATIONS No report. C. CRIME TRENDS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities  affecting Temple City for the month of July 2024. CRIME STATISTICS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the crime statistics for the month of July  2024.  F. TRAFFIC ISSUES  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the traffic issues for the month of July  2024.  G. TRAFFIC STATISTICS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the traffic statistics for the month of July  2024.  H. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES  Deputy Bui provided an update on the special assignment team activities.  I. PUBLIC OUTREACH/EVENTS  Deputy Bui reported on the public outreach conducted by the special  assignment team.  J. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2024  Deputy Bui announced upcoming meetings and events that will be conducted  in the City. PUBLIC COMMENTS-  7.  Art Cunha, Temple City School District Superintendent, invited City Council and Deputies to Back to School Night and the Principals' monthly meeting. Jerry Jambazian, Temple City business owner, commented on drone registration and requested an update on a School Resource Officer. The City Council Special Meeting was adjourned at  8.
