CITY COUNCIL TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 25 ,2024  1. CALL TO ORDER  Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 7:07 a.m. in the City Hall Community Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City.  2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT:  Councimember = Chen, Sternquist, Chavez  Councimember = Man, Yu  City Manager Cook, Community Services and Public Safety Supervisor Amaya, Senior Community Preservation Officer  Tran  Deputy Lam and Deputy Bui  Mayor Chavez made a motion to excuse Councimember Yu and Counciimember  Man. QUALITY OF LIFE  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the sex offender registrants, paroles,  and probationers in the City for the month of August 2024.  B. OPERATIONS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of operations for the month of August 2024.  C. CRIME TRENDS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities  affecting Temple City for the month of August 2024.  D. NOTABLE ARRESTS    City Council Meeting Minutes September 25, 2024 Page 2of3  Deputy Bui provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City for the  month of August 2024. E. CRIME STATISTICS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the crime statistics for the month of  August 2024. F. TRAFFIC ISSUES  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the traffic issues for the month of August  2024.  G. TRAFFIC STATISTICS  Deputy Bui provided an overview of the traffic statistics for the month of  August 2024.  H. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES  Deputy Bui provided an update on the special assignment team activities.  PUBLIC OUTREACH/EVENTS  Deputy Bui reported on the public outreach conducted by the special  assignment team.  J. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR OCTOBER 2024  Deputy Bui announced upcoming meetings and events that will be conducted  in the City. PUBLIC COMMENTS  7.  Jerry Jambazian, Temple City business owner, asked if there was a felony arrest made relating to the recent fatal accident at Ellis and Temple City Boulevard. He also shared that City of San Gabriel has hired an outside agency to enforce Art Cunha, Temple City Unified School District Superintendent, thanked deputies for their response during a hoax call regarding a person with a gun. He asked if the school should initiate a call for service in vehicles VS. pedestrian accidents involving students.
