BC Quinalty's family joined him at the podium and his daughter Loria pinned on his badge. Council Member Molina spoke regarding the exceeding of her travel monies and the need for additional funds to cover the negative balance. It was determined that the negative balance would be absorbed by the available balances left in the Council travel budget through June 30, 2024, which concludes the 23/24 fiscal year. CALIMESA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REPORT Chamber Vice-President Tony Phillips reported a successful July breakfast event and announced that the August breakfast would be held at Haus Bistro with Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco as the speaker, adding that RSVPS are required, and tickets must be purchased for this event. He further announced that the September breakfast would also be held at Haus Bistro with Senator Ochoa-Bogh as the speaker, adding that RSVPS are also required, and tickets must be purchased. He reported that 50 welcome bags would be distributed within the next couple of weeks. He further reported that the annual State oft the City would be held on September 26, 2024 at the Plantation on the Lakes Club House, adding that the Chamber staff and City staff are in the midst of planning the event. Chris Mann, Yucaipa City Manager and Grant Malanowski, Yucaipa Fire Chief both spoke in support of the agreement and stated their desire in working together with Calimesa to provide emergency services. Kathy Richard, Vice-President of the Calimesa Cultural and Performing Arts Association spoke on behalf of the Association and thanked the City for their annual support and requested additional funding of $4,000 from the City to the Association. She further reported that she attended the WRCOG General Assembly on June 20th, the Lions Club Installation of Officers on June 23rd at Summerwind Park, the memorial service for Art Welch on June 23rd an RCTC Budget and Finance Committee meeting on June 24th, a LAFCO meeting on June 27th and an RTA Executive Committee and Board meeting on June 27th. She further reported that she placed flags on July 4th with the Lions Club, attended the park ground breaking on July 8th, a Riverside Division Cal Cities meeting on July 8th that the City of Calimesa hosted where Chad Bianco and the District Attorney's office spoke regarding Prop 36. She requested a future agenda item for further discussion of the stipends for Mayor Pro Tem Hewitt reported that the July meeting of the WRCOG was cancelled sO she had no report. She reported that she attended the Cal Cities Riverside Division meeting Mayor Davis announced a fundraiser for Congressman Ken Calvert that would be held at the Fascination Ranch on August 15, 2024 at 10:00 am, adding that the City has received the agenda being posted asi required by Government Code S 54954.2(b). Council Members. on July 8th at Tukwet Canyon Golf Club. generous funding for capital projects due to the Congressman's efforts. CITY MANAGER COMMENTS & REPORTS Deputy City Manager/City Clerk Gerdes announced that the Nomination Period has opened for the November 5, 2024 election, stating that there are three seats up for reelection, City Manager Kolbow spoke regarding street signs throughout the City and provided a draft sample of what any new signs might look like. He announced the "Movie under the Stars" event that would take place on August gth at Summerwind Park, funded by the 5th District Supervisors office. He further announced the Calimesa Library Ground Breaking adding that the nomination period runs through 5:30 August 8, 2024. scheduled for 10:00 am on July 31st.
