Background: On. June 22, 2017, City staff received a letter from Benny S. Sharpe on behalf of Ms. Marlene Saunders requesting the City abandon of the 15-foot wide unnamed and unimproved alley extending between Hilltop Drive and Watson Avenue. Ms. Saunders residence encroaches into the alley which is presenting title issues in the sale of the residence. Staff Comments: 1. A map illustrating the location of the unimproved, unnamed alley proposed for abandonment is included in the agenda packet. A copy of the letter from Benny S. Sharpe requesting the alley 2. The City has no water or sewer infrastructure in the alley requested for abandonment. The only infrastructure located in the alley is a storm drainage pipe. Since the City does not maintain storm drainage infrastructure on private property, once the alley is abandoned, such pipe will become the 3.
