Thei meeting was called to order by Mayor Garry whol ledi in the pledge to Mayor Garry asked for a: moment of silence for all the souls that passed away in the thel Flag. holocaust of September 11t23 years ago. Thei roll was called and the following present: Greg Garry Roy Sarver Sarah O'Brien Daryl) Miller Mark Gadd Public) Forum Phyllis Newmeyer, 704 Walnut Street, Monongahela, stated she has been having an issue with her neighbor who has filed harassment charges against her. She has lived there 70 years and this gentleman has ai motorcycle that is very loud and every days shel has to listen tol his motorcycle. Every day he revs his motorcyclei in front ofl her house and iti ist torturing her with the noise. She has spoken to the police, the Chief, thel Mayor, and the Statel Police and they all statei itis aj public street and there is nothing they can do abouti it. Now she has harassment charges against her Solicitor McGraw stated that reports tot the police ist the most effective route. Council doesn't have any additional police power to go over and above what thej police can do. That she should make sure that she keeps making reports to the police of ordinance violations or possible Councilman Gadd stated that maybe thel best thing that is happening is she does havea hearing. Thej judge can hear both sides and maybe make some peace out ofthis situation. Pete Hoosac, 425 Fourth Avenue, New Eagle, stated that todayi is a day ofr remembrance and on August 8, 1968, a 15-year-old young lady went tol Kennywood on Monongahela Day and never returned home. Fives years later her brother was involvedi in al boating accident at the Aquatorium. Hel hopes that Council could find some way tol honor the family. Her name was Nina Rach and maybe there is something that Monongahela could do as a memorial for her. Terry Necciai, 4001 Meade Street, representing the Main! Street Program, stated that we are down to one or two empty store fronts and hel has seen ai renewed sense of cooperation recently. Also, Council will be looking at the Façade projects and presented information to Council regarding the projects. Thel Main Street Program applied for two grants and received both. One has enough money to do approximately eight façade projects and the other has enough to do approximately four more depending on cost.
