Julia Street Stormwater Project. All thej paperwork with the County has been completed and the contractor anticipates a late September start once all materials have been delivered. A few minor revisions have been made to thei initial scope for the betterment oft the Project. The County has completed all thej paperwork with Ellenberger Excayating/Demolition and they anticipate al late september/October start. The County recently approved transferring additional CDBG funds that had been returned from a Project that was canceled to the Borough to assist with the cleanup. The additional CDBG funds should cover the balance that the Borough would We have been working to develop a narrative for the Armstrong Theater building collapse, including what remains tol be completed to razei thes structure and redevelop thes site. Cly Hornung provided significant assistance with this document which can now be used for future grant We recently met with members of the Palumbo Foundation to review the work that's been completed at the. JCC and to discuss some of the projects that remain. As part of that discussion we also explained the current issues with the Theater Building. We are looking at possible grant applications in the future and this provided an opportunity for the Foundation to see what Wel have finalized the design, scope ofwork and project specifications fort the. JCC rear driveway resurfacing project and have distributed that information to: several local contractors for review. Bids have been requested for the September Council meeting with the anticipation of work still Thel Borough has been approved for a 2023 CDBG grant application for slum and blight removal at the corner of Bergen Street and First Avenue. Thel Borough received the balance of funding available after the other applications were approved. These funds should be able to cover the demolition of at least two (2) oft the blighted properties noted in the application. We have begun to gather information for the three (3) proposed Local Share Account (LSA) grant applications for 2023. The: submittal window runs from September 15t thru November 30th with requests between $25,000-$1 million. We have spoken to representatives from North Central and DCED who have noted the Theater Redevelopment would be an applicable project. have been responsible for. opportunities and other funding requests. challenges thel Borough currently faces. being completed this Fall.
