Buford City Commission September 3, 2024 10:00 a.m. Buford City Hall Attendees: Chairman Beard - present Vice Chairman Burge - present Commissioner Weeks - present Public Safety Director Dan Branch No one from the public attended Fiscal Year 2025 Budget & Property Tax Year 2024 Rollback Public Hearings City Staff Chairman Beard called the meeting to order at 10:00a.m. The Buford City Commission held public hearings on September 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Buford City Hall, 2300 Buford Highway regarding the fiscal year 2025 operating budget and the proposed City of Buford tax increases for City residents in Gwinnett County and Hall County. Chairman Beard opened thel hearings with comments on the FY 2025 budget, the proposed tax increases for 2024 and gave an overview oft the law and the City's proposed millage rate. The Commission is proposing a millage rate of 12.50 for 2024 for both Gwinnett and Hall Counties, Hall County 12.50 after the LOST rollback. The property tax increase for Gwinnett County is proposed at 12.05% over the rollback millage rate of 11.156 and the property tax increase for Hall County is proposed at 5.89% over the rollback millage rate of 11.805.
