Washington County Board of Commissioners  Regular Meeting September 12, 2024 9:00am  Commissioners Present: Horace Daniel, Doug Watkins, Bobby Jackson, James HitchcockJr.,  Frank Simmons. Jr. Prayer & Pledge Call Meeting to Order August Minutes  Chairman Daniel called the meeting to order.  Commissioner Simmons made a motion to approve the August 2024 Board Minutes, seconded by Commissioner Watkins. The motion was passedunanimousy.  Bills  The bills to be ratified were asi follows:  Administrative & Other- $609,032.72 Road Deparment-S12425842 Sheriff office & Jail-$171,503.49 Cournouse-$s2226.59 EMA-$11,495.02 E911-$10,031.85 Landfil-$72,362.02  Commissioner Watkins made ar motion to approve the August expenditures, seconded by  Commissioner Simmons. The motion was passed unanimously. Mr. Holmes gave an update of where his crews are fort the week. Address issues with Jones Road - Cassandra Harper  Road Department Update  Appointments  Ms. Harper was unable to attend. There were multiple people in attendance that spoke ont thei issues of. Jones Road.. Administrator Durden stated that the commissioners are aware of issues and presume that the Commissioners plan to Mrs. Moncus, gave an update on the Chamber members and activities. She informed the Commissioners of the planned events for the Kaolin Festival this year.  addi itt to the paving listi for next year. 3Qtr Chamber Update & Kaolin Festival- - Katie Moncus  Old Business    New Business  Bid Award-State Court Public Defender  Commissioner Hitchcock made a motion to approve Johnny' Vines bid, at $625 per case, ast the State Court Public Defender. Commissioner Watkins seconded the Attorney Howard suggested toi table this business. At thet time iti is not necessary. Commissioner Simmons made a motion toi table the discussion for Tennille Annexation. Commissioner Hitchcock seconded the motion. The motion passed Commissioner Simmons made a motion to approve the appointment of Trey Burgamy to the DBHDD board. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. The  motion. Executive Session: Personnel  Commissioner Simmons made ar motion to enter into Executive Session. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
