Municipal Building - 4000 Main Present: Mayor Margolis, Mayor Pro Tem Winget, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shinder, Councilmember Reaves, Councimember Bowers, Councilmember Britton and Councilmember Schupp 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Margolis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. CITIZENS INPUT There were no Online Input submissions received for this meeting. No individuals spoke during Citizens' Input. INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION 3. 3A. Consider action to approve an ordinance adopting the budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 (FY2025). Wendy Badgett, Director of Financial Services presented this item (Items 3A, 3B, and 3C combined). Stated the public hearings were conducted at the September 17, 2024 Council meeting, and tonight we are here to approve the ordinances for passing the budget, setting the tax A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Winget, seconded by Councilmember Britton, to move that Council adopt an ordinance approving the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget as presented. The motion passed with a unanimous vote of those members present. This rate, and ratifying the property tax revenue increase. item was approved as ORD-026-24. 3B. Consider an ordinance approving and adopting the ad valorem tax rate of $0.769691 per $100 of taxable value for fiscal year 2024-2025 (FY2025). AI motion was made by Councilmember Schupp, seconded by Counciimember Bowers, to move that the property tax rate increased by the adoption of a tax rate of 0.769691, which is effectively an 11.16 percent increase in the tax rate. The motion passed with a unanimous vote of those members present. This item was approved as ORD-027-24. 3C. Consider action to ratify the property tax revenue increase reflected in the Budget for FY2025. City ofF Rowlett 10673 AI motion was made by Councilmember Britton, seconded by Councilmember Bowers, to move that the resolution ratifying the property tax increase reflected in the adopted Fiscal Year 2025 budget be approved. The motion passed with a unanimous vote of those TAKE ANY NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE ACTION ON CLOSEDIEXECUTIVE SESSION members present. This item was approved as RES-084-24.
