CALL' TOORDER  Chair Casey Bingham called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Commission members present were Chair Casey Bingham, Vice-Chair Ann Lemons, LaPortia Hurse, Daphne King, and Benjamin Nickerson II. City staff present were DirectorofCommuniy, Development Peter Morgan, Senior Planner. Alex Dixon, City Engineer John Casey, City Attorney Jon Thatcher, and Assistant City Manager Karl Zook. Commission members  Sandra Carrasco and Arthur Vidales were absent.  II. INVOCATION  Vice Chair Ann Lemons gave the invocation.  III. CONSENT ITEMS  1. Consider approval of the May 2, 2024, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting Vice-Chair Lemons made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Nickerson seconded the motion. Hold aj public hearing and discuss and consider approval of an Ordinance rezoning 0.817 acres of land from Single-Family Residential-6 District (SF-6) to General Retail District (GR). The applicant specifically requested to place a snow cone trailer adjacent to Pacific Street. Chairman Bingham opened the public hearing at 6:52 p.m. No one from the public spoke and the public hearing was closed at 6:52 p.m. Vice-Chair made a motion to approve the request at the Pacific Street location. Commissioner Nickerson seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of5 ayes and 0 nays. 4. Hold aj public hearing and discuss and consider approval of an Ordinance amending the City of] Forney Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance by adding a definition, regulations, and Peter Morgan introduced the item. The proposed ordinance adds aj permit process and regulations for donation boxes. Chairman Bingham opened thej public hearing at 6:58 p.m. Filip Filipov spoke in favor of the request. Mr. Filipov initiated the request to amend the Zoning Ordinance. Public hearing was closed at 7:00 p.m. Vice-Chair Lemons made a motion to approve the request. Discuss and consider approval ofa a site plan for Popeyes, located south of the North F.M. Alex Dixon introduced the item. Staff recommended approval ofthe request.
