Minutes of Cresson City Council Meeting September 10, 2024 The City Council reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session during the course ofthe meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney regarding any item on the posted agenda as authorized by Section Mayor Becker called the City Council Meeting of Cresson, Texas to order at 7:00 P.M. on September 551.071 ofthe Texas Government Code. 10, 2024, at the City Council Chambers. Attendance as follows: Lisa Clement Jacob Shelly Jeff] - Keeney Gary Robertson Corey Barker City Attorneys Rachel Raggio and Bessie Bronstein Mayor Ron Becker Councilperson Keeney gave the invocation and Mayor Pro Tem Clement led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge. The meeting is opened to the public. Citizen's Comments Citizen Roy Doolin of1 104 E. Bluebonnet Drive wondered if maps and addresses can be added when an agenda is posted with any zoning and plating items. Mayor's Report and Comments A. Aledo ISD and Cresson approached TxDot regarding widening Constellation Drive at Hwy 377. According to TxDot, what the HOA is asking for is too wide, but the area engineer with will look it over. The HOA will need to pay fori it. B. Multiple Road Updates: The SS4A grant application was filed on 8/30/2024. The estimated cost of the study is $175,000 sO the city's portion would be $35,000. The Focus Group met briefly due to an issue in how the zoom meeting was set up. Ift the grant is approved, the Focus Group will really go to work. Mayor Becker attended a COG meeting regarding the possibility of rapid transit between Dallas TxDot is still saying November 2024 for the northbound traffic shift to the bypass Johnson County is putting a $60 million transportation bond on the November ballot. Hood County is putting a $50 million bond for a new jail and a 2-cent tax for the Hospital district and Fort Worth. on the November ballot. D. The city presents City Attorney Rachel Raggio a baby gift. Today is her last meeting before her maternity leave starts. Bessie Bronstein will be filling in until January 2025 for Rachel. Items for Future Agendas None Deliberation Agenda A Consider and possibly act to approve or disapprove an ordinance adopting the amendments to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget. No citizen comments. Councilperson Robertson makes a motion to approve the budget amendments and the accompanying ordinance. Councilperson Clement seconds the motion. 5 ayes and 0 nays. The motion is passed unanimously. B. Public Hearing to receive input regarding the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Annual Budget. Mayor Becker notes that he did not participate inj preparing the budget since it has a line item for the CVFD on it. Mayor Pro Tem and City Secretary Katy Froyd prepared the budget. 1.1 Hold Public Hearing. Public Hearing is opened at 7:13pm. No citizen or council questions or 2.
