CLOSEDS SESSION VI. ADJOURNMENT 1.1 Denise will speak regarding the cemetery trust. (Motion needed) 2.Ihad a conversation with Patrick Mauney from the Rappahannock- Rapidan Regional Commission (RRRC) regarding the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund and the upcoming grant opportunity. We explored the possibility ofapplying for a hydraulic study and discussed reaching out to Fauquier County, given the broader scope ofthe issue. Ihave contacted Fauquier County and am awaiting a response. The grant requires a 10% match, although there is a waiver option available due to the opportunity zone designation. Is seek Council's direction on whether to proceed with the grant application, and ifso, whether the focus should remain on a hydraulic study or explore other options. The grant submission deadline is November 9, 2024. Additionally, Ib believe coordination with the county would be prudent, as the issue affects both the town and areas beyond our jurisdiction. 3. The draft RV ordinance is a document I prepared. Once Council has provided feedback, I will submit it to Andrea for further review. 4. RVFRD Grant: The Remington Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department (RVFRD) has expressed interest in applying for ai mini grant, which has not been available since 2021.This grant would cover the acquisition of personal protective equipment (PPE) and operational expense items, which are often challenging to secure due to budgetary constraints. The grant would be pass-through, with no financial obligation on the town.
