Police Department Captain Carrington shared the following crime stat updates: CFS - Responded to 89,526 calls compared to 88,989 last year; just under a 1% increase Public Safety and Human Relations Commission oft the City of San Bernardino Page. 2 Regular Meeting Draft Minutes September 9, 2024 Proactive Enforcement Stops Conducted 27,679 stops compared to 22,804 last year; a Guns Recovered - 745 this year compared to 908 last year; an 18% decrease Methamphetamine Recovered - 4,688 Ibs. compared to 5,991 Ibs. last year; a 22% Cocaine Recovered - 1,932 Ibs. compared to 611 Ibs. last year; a 216% increase Fentanyl Recovered - 149 Ibs. compared to 1,466 Ibs. last year; a 90% decrease Homicides - 121 to date compared to 26 this time last year with the prior year being in the 50s/60s; a drastic decrease in homicides in our City - 54% decrease from last year, Part 1 Crimes are down 8% from last year, which was down 7% from the previous year Call Response Times - Even with the slight increase in CFS, response times are down 21% increase decrease which was 50% less than the year before 16%, which was down 20% from the previous year Robberies are down 12% across the City Burglaries are down 15% across the City Assault with a Deadly Weapon crimes are down 16% across the City Captain Carrington stated that on the violent crime front, we're doing really well.
