City of Mexico Beach Meeting Minutes TUESDAY AUGUST1 13, 2024-9:00AM The City of Mexico Beach City Council met ina a regular meeting on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at 9:00 am at the Public Works Buildingi in Mexico Beach. Mayor Wolff and thet following Councilmembers were present: Linda Hamilton, Jerry Smith, Jason Adams and Tim Linderman. Also present were Interim City Administrator, Mell Smigielski, City Clerk, Tammy Brunson and City Attorney Tim Sloan. I. I. Call to order: Mayor Wolff called the meeting to order at 9:00 am. Consent Agenda: Meeting minutes from the. July 23, 2024, were tabled for corrections. Table item was approved unanimously. IV. Regular Business: 1. Data Flow Alarm System amendment was brought to the table. Mr. Smigielski explained that the original quote council already approved did noti included the water plant and MX1. The additional amount will cover everything the city has. Several questions included why this was not noticed before hand and could we negotiate the price. Mr. Smith motioned, and Mr. Adams seconded to approve an additional $27,977.00to purchase the Data flow Alarm System and amend the budget accordingly. Motion passed with a3t to 2 vote. 2. Update on the City Administrator and Finance Director applications was brought to the table. Mayor' Wolff explained the posting fori the Finance Director position has already closed and we received 9 resumes. There are 20 resumes for the City Administrator position which closes on August 23"d. He passed out at timeline for the application process that he would like to follow. Open public comment at 9:28 am - Lisa Logan asked about background checks for the applicants. Closed public comment at 9:29 am. Mr. Linderman talked about the services Florida League of Cities offers for the hiring process. Direction from council was to move forward with the mayorstimeline, reach out to Mark Ryan with FLC1 to check his availability. 3. Set up a date and time for the third Budget Workshop was brought to the table. Consensus was August 20, No votes were Mayor Wolff and Mrs. Hamilton. 2024, at! 5 pm. V. Citizen Comments: Mitch Coleman, representing MBARA thanked the city and their employees for all the hard work during the Kingfish Tournament. Brian Ping Addressed council about having an ice cream peddling business on the beach. Lisa Logan reminded council that ify you let one peddling business iny you must let them alli in. Council Comments: Mayor Wolff asked for an update on the properties Code Enforcement has been working on and on the Mrs. Hamilton asked fori information about the sewer line tie in on Tyndall. Mr. Linderman went over the CDC budget for next year and talked about the beach parking loti for Salt Creek Phase II. Mr. Smith askedi if we could put a rush on the Data Flow Alarm System and complimented Tommy on the condition oft the City. City Administrator- - Mr. Smigielski announced Garrett Garland will be replacing Glenn Davis as the Utilities Director. He talked about the NWGW Underwater Debris Removal Project and how it must be completed by October 15th due to the start of the Beach Renourishment Project. He went over the ICMA Code of Ethics VIII. Staff Comments: and recommends that the new City Administrator is an active member. City Attorney - Mr. Sloan had no additional comments. XI.
