City of Mexico Beach Special Meeting Minutes THURSDAY, JULY25, 2024-2:00PM  The City of Mexico Beach City Council meti ina as special meeting on Thursday. July 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Public Works Buildingi in Mexico Beach. Mayor Wolff andt the following Councilmembers were present: Linda Hamilton, Jerry Smith, and Tim  Linderman. Also present were City Clerk, Tammy Brunson.  I. II.  Call to order: Mayor Wolff called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm.  Regular Agenda:  1. Mayor Wolff explained the reason for the special meeting was to address the Interim City Administrator position. He stated he spoke with Mell Smigielski and he is willing to fill in as the Interim untila a replacement can be hired. He went over the contract details they worked out. He will be paid $2,000.00 per week and travel expenses if needed with prior approval from council. He also stated that assistance from Adrian Welle would be an asset in helping with the budget process. Mr. Welle will be hired on an as needed basis, with council oversite for $50.00 per hour. Open Public Comment at 2:05 pm - Marc Rice said he thought Mell would be good for the position and are there goals to achieve. Michele Miller asked what value Mr. Welle will bring to this team. She asked about the history ofi finances while he was here in the past and she does not think he willl be an asset. Steve Cox: said he supports Mell and is the Finance Director still in the mix.. John Harell asked ift the jobi is posted and to what capacity Mr. Welle will bei involved. Closed public comment at 2:09 pm. Mr. Linderman liked the plan and as al backup FLC offers interim servicesa as well. Mrs. Hamilton is good with Mell but would prefer to use CRI on an hourly basis for budget assistance. Mr. Linderman motioned, and Mrs. Hamilton seconded to employee Mell Smigielski as the Interim City Administrator. Motion passed with a 4-Ovote. Mr. Linderman motioned, and Mr. Smith seconded to employ Mr. Welle on an as needed basis for $50.00 per hour at councils discretion. Motion passed witha 2. Mr. Linderman passed out information from the Florida League of Cities on the services they provide for  3-1vote. No vote was Mrs. Hamilton the search for a new City Administrator.  IX.
