City of Mexico Beach Meeting Minutes TUESDAY. UIY23,2024-6.00PMA The City of Mexico Beach City Council met in a regular meeting on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the Public Works Building inN Mexico Beach. Mayor Wolff and thet following Councilmembers were present: Linda Hamilton, Jerry Smith, Jason Adams and Tim Linderman. Also present were City Clerk, Tammy Brunson and City Attorney Tim Sloan. I. II. Call to order: Mayor Wolff called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Consent Agenda: Meeting minutes from the. July 2, 2024, July 9, 2024, and. July: 11, 2024, meetings were brought to the table. Consent agenda was approved unanimously. III. Special Appearance:Tonia Nation with Avcon updated council on the engineering and design services for the Stormwater management retention pond. Surveying is completed, they will start identifying critical areas street by street. She would like to hold a community workshop sometime in September. She will schedule something in the next couple of weeks. Ms. Nation was available for questions. IV. Regular Business: 1. Update on the city audit was brought to the table. Mayor Wollf updated everyone on the conference call with the. JLAC. Auditors. The audit is not finished, and it was very informal, but he went over some on the finding that would be noted on the final report. All are procedural not financial. Mayor Wolff said he has seen the preliminary FY22 Audit and there are no surprises. He also stated CRI is ready to get started on the 2. Setting a special meeting to establish thei tentative Millage Rate was brought to the table. Mayor Wolff explained there will have to be a separate special meeting to set the tentative millage rate. His suggestion is 3. The Projects List was brought to the table. Mayor Wolff explained Mr. Hubbard had the projects list, soi it FY23 audit as soon as. James Moore is ready to go. immediately following the. July 30, 2024, Budget Workshop. All agreed. was not available to council. They will bring it back for the next meeting. V. Citizen Comments: Gary' Woodham expressed concern about e-bikes and a possible Ordinance to keep them off the sidewalks. He also asked about leash laws and people letting their dogs use the bathroom in the open space by the canal and not cleaningi it up. Michele Miller recommended they application for the 2 previous finalists fort the City Administrator, job be considered again.. Jordon Becker with Point Broadband offered free internet service for the cameras being installed at Under that Palms Park and also at Parker Park for the Farmers Market and at City Hall. Mayor Comments: Mayor Wolff asked for council to temporarily put him in charge until he could get an interim in place. He will be at City Hall handling the day-to-day duties to keept the city moving forward. Mrs. Hamilton motioned, and Mr. Adams seconded to temporarily have Mayor Wolffi in charge oft the day-to-day operations until an interim is in place. Motion passed with a 4to 1 vote. No vote was Mr. Smith. Mayor updated everyone on a new development out by the Harmon Property that has expressed interest in incorporating into Mexico Beach. VII. Staff Comments: City Attorney - Mr. Sloan had no additional comments. XI. Adjournment: Mr. Linderman and Mr. Adams motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 pm.
