Work Session Minutes Council Chambers Monongahela, PA July 8, 2024  Minutes for July 8, 2024, Work Session, gaveled into session at 8:30: a.m. Ther meeting was Idea for discussion: Karen Langol stated that when she and' Terry Necciai went to the Pennsylvania Downtown Center Annual Conference, she found a way that we can get thei trees in the City for free. They are looking for owners who have historic buildings who arel looking to restore thel historic details. Report: Councilwoman O'Brien stated that Rental Inspections are being done. She and Code Enforcement Officer Fritch have sent out al lot of letters this week for grass, weeds, and garbage. Report: Councilman Gadd stated the City has purchased a concession stand. Hei is looking for Report: Chief Kevin Harris stated that he spoke tol Ringgold School District. They previously were applying for services for K9 assistance at the school for searches from an outside company. The Monongahela Police Department will enter into an agreement with Ringgold to use the facilities for training purposes. Int turn our K9 Officer is going to assist them with doing assisted searches when they Report: Dorothea Pemberton stated that ont the 20th there was a meeting with the Downtown Focus Groups. The City will be working with them tot try to get our store fronts filled. She then stated that she iss starting a broadband grant for the laptops for thel Policel Department and hope to get laptops in every police vehicle. Ms. Pemberton stated she is also working with Councilman Gadd to get some upgrades done att the Mounds Park and once we get price points, they are going to submit a donation  Streets.  the Farmer's Market and maybe to speak tol PennDot to put up some lights.  monies toj put a concrete pad down to put the stand on.  request.  request to 841 Lumber. Announcements:  Christine Somales announced that in October there will bei thel Monongahela Paranormal Theater Tour. They have Facebook Page and all proceeds from this tour will be donated tot the City of George Eckert stated that MARC willl have a' Town Hall Meeting on September 16th at the Monongahela Fire Hall. They are contacting the Army Corp of Engineers toj present to our residents what is goingt to happen at the Aquatorium andt the Monongahela River Front. Mr. Eckert announced that thel Movies int the Mounds is Twister on July 12th at dusk. Karen) Langol stated that there willl be a spaghetti dinner for the fire victims here in town is. July Dorothea! Pemberton stated that on. July 10th, Councilwoman O'Brien and the office staff will be going to a Women inl Leadership Conference sponsored by the Mon Valley Regional Chamber. Mayor Garry stated that Council willl have an executive session after this Work Session meeting. Dorotheal Pemberton statedt that the City would like to extend our condolences to the: family of Frank Hnatik. Frank was a lifetime member oft the Fire Department and worked att the Sewage Christine Somales stated that the Paint Monongahela Event was held at the Library and they raise  Monongahela Parks/Places for betterment of our Community Parks.  20th att the Elks Club from 11 to6.
