NON-ACTION ITEMS Citizen Comments Cliff Merrill, the owner of Our Friends Campground, spoke to the council regarding shooting that is taking place on the property next to his. He explained that bullets have entered his property from his neighbor because his neighbor's berm faces the campground. His request to the council is to look at reinstating the ordinance that prohibits shooting inside city limits or at least modifying it sO shooting within city Nicholas Wisely, a resident at Our Friends Campground, spoke to the council also regarding shootingi in cityl limits. He presented the council with ballistic data and the data oft the said berm. His request to the council was to hold a public hearing on this matter specifically to look at modifying the previous ordinance to prevent shooting towards another property because there is a great risk and it is unsafe. Jennifer Osborne, a resident, and the manager of Our Friends Campground added that the frequency of the shooting happens weekly and at all different times. Rodriguez also gave the council the reasons as to why this gentleman wants to purchase this property. Mayor Wilkerson reminded the council since we are a government agency we cannot just "give away" property.. Judge Isenhour advised how city land had been sold in the past. Mayor Wilkerson asked the council if they would be opposed to selling the land and none opposed. The council asked how much the legal fees would approximately be. City Manager Rodriguez replied about $300- $500 assuming we let this gentleman do a "quick claim" of the property. Mayor Wilkerson asked if the council would entertain the idea of selling itf for; $15. The council opposed and directed the City Manager to price an appraisal and refer to the budget forf financing. Mayor Wilkerson suggested we address the drainage issues as well if the grant) funds allow) for that. Rodriguez stated the engineering company: specialized in: sewer and drainage on roadways and they would assess these roads for drainage issues. Council members inquired about what material would be used. City Manager Rodriguez stated the city would decide the material. Council member Green. suggested we keep Depot Street in mind if not for this year but possibly, for next year. City Manager Rodriguez stated Depot Street is a part of his secondary project along with. Sante Fe Street. He selected these. streets over Depot because iti is stillf functioning. Council member Combs asked to see the price difference between chip seal and asphalt.
