GENERAL G-2665 Approve Finance Report for period ending August 31, 2024 Rick Overgaard gave the following report: General Fund revenues for the month of August, the eleventh month of the fiscal year, were $837,625. Major revenues collected for the month include Property taxes of $33,312, Franchise taxes of $99,156, Permits of $47,808, Fines and Forfeitures of $56,039, Charges for Services of$90,322, Other Agencies of $63,637, and Interest of $106,640. Sales tax collected and recognized as revenue in August was $340,711. Fiscal year to date sales tax is $4,295,304, an increase of2.5% over last year at this time. A separate summary of sales tax revenue collections is provided for comparative purposes. General Fund revenues collected through the end of August were $27,850,406 and 113.5% of the General Fund expenditures fori the month of August were $1,596,903. Fiscal year to date expenditures were $21,516,631 and 87.7% of the adopted budget. Total General Fund revenues of $27,850,406 were more than total General Fund Debt Service revenues for the month of August totaled $2,138 and were all from property tax. There were no expenditures in August. The next debt service payments EDC revenues for August were $196,295. EDC expenditures for August were $3,165,816, which includes the land purchase for 9353 and 9445 Benbrook Revenues received for August were $110,103 from stormwater utility fees, mineral lease revenue, and interest earnings. Expenditures for the Capital Projects Fund were $31,082 for August. August expenditures included the Cedar Creek and Timberline Drainage project and the Storm Drain Assessment project. Revenues exceeded expenditures by $79,021. Sufficient funds are available ini the current fund balances of the Capital Projects Fund. This fund operates on a project basis rather On August 31, 2024, the City had $34,884,873 invested at varying interest rates; the budget. expenditures of $21,516,631 by$ $6,333,775. are due February 1, 2025. Ordinance No. 1503 being "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BENBROOK, TEXAS, APPROVING BUDGET FIGURES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024 THROUGH 2025; ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2024, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2025, AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR EACH DEPARTMENT, PROJECT, AND ACCOUNT; ACCEPTING AND APPROVING THE EMPLOYEE CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATIONS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING ASAVINGS CLAUSE AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
