AUGUST 22, 2024 JASPER, FLORIDA  SPECIAL SESSION  Thel Board of County Commissioners, Hamilton County, Florida, met in special session on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Development Authority Board Room, 553 Chanbridge Drive, Jasper, Florida. Present were Commissioners Travis Erixton, Jimmy Murphy, Robbie Roberson, Richie McCoy and Robert Brown, a full Board being present. Also present were County Attorney Andy Decker and County Coordinator Gary Godwin. The meeting was called to order by Chairman McCoy. The Hamilton County  Development Authority also had a quorum present. JOINT MFING/DPVPIOPMENT AUTHORITY  The Board of County Commissioners were present for the Development Authority meeting to discuss the Geddes property and how to best develop a plan for the properties. Both Boards discussed how to stabilize and insure the properties. Philip Jackson, an occupant ofc one ofthe buildings, was present and explained his previous discussion with Ms. Geddes and provided a detailed description of the repairs that have been made tol his building. After a lengthy discussion, the Development Board took the following action:  Motion by Megan Carter to allow Economic Development Director Chadd Mathis, County Coordinator Gary Godwin and stafft to work out the details of the following: formulize a short-term lease, provide proofofinsurance: for each building, gather parcel information as to the age, size and assessed value of each parcel and to schedule a workshop between both Boards to further discuss the information once acquired.
