David Talbott, Bob Richardson, Brett Carpenter, Corey Brandon, Cora Baxa, Rochelle King, Ruston Seaman, Kim Lewis, Drew Phillips, Mike Rohaly, Mike Burk Jamie Carpenter called the meeting to order at 9:00am and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Ona motion by David Strait, seconded by Jedd Schola, the. June 5, 2023 meeting minutes were  approved. 3/0  No exonerations were presented.  Onamotion by David Strait, seconded by Jamie Carpenter, six (6) final settlements were  approved. 3/0  JAMES SCOTT DAUGHERTY, BETTY BLY MARSH, JAMES FRANKLIN BECKETT, GROVER CLEVELAND Ab budget revision for General County was approved as presented on a motion by. Jamie  HARRIS, JR., SARA BAUGHMAN DURST CHILDS, GARY LEE FRAYER  Carpenter, seconded by. Jedd Schola. 3/0  Mike Burke and Mike Rohaly, Northern Appalachian Coal Mining Heritage Association, presented an interactive coal mine ride project that is under construction and located adjacent to the NACMHA Museum in Marion County. Participants will sit in a reconditioned four-person mine cart inside a room that looks like a mine and view a short informative video. The group requested financial assistance for project. The Commission will keep the project under  consideration.  Sheriff Carpenter reported on the tax office vacancy. A taser training class was being held today and offered to the Dog Warden. He also requested the commission to consider appointing Jacob Bob Richardson inquired to the Sheriff about the status of the Hunters Fork Neighborhood Watch paperwork; the Sheriff responded he would get him the paperwork. Bounce Back to School and Safety Fair events are being combined and held on. July 22nd from 12pm-6pm on the Courthouse square. Cora Baxa and Rochelle King presented a request for funding to purchase backpacks and school supplies. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by. Jedd Schola, $3,000 was approved for the event from CARES Act reimbursement funds. 3/0 Justin Carter, Philippi Middle School Boys' Basketball Coach, presented a request fori funding to purchase a shot trainer for the team. $500 from CARES Act reimbursement funds was approved  Summertield as a Humane Officer. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, Claytor Enterprises, LLC was approved to prepare the 2022-23 financial statement and the Capital Assets policy was approved Corey Brandon discussed large upcoming events in the county and the upcoming WAMSB event. Alderson Broaddus University is expecting two bands totaling approximately 200 members. County Commission audits are being conducted byt the WV: State Auditor's office for 2019-20 and 2020-21. They are scheduled to continue audits and catching upi through the current fiscal year. Executive Session was entered to discuss Opioid Litigation at 10:19am on a motion by. Jamie Regular Session was resumed at 10:40am on a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Jamie Carpenter made a motion, pursuant to the West Virginia First Memorandum of Understanding previously entered into by the Barbour County Commission, to approve and accept the Kroger, Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Amneal Settlements, and any other related entities, and to authorize. Jamie Carpenter, President oft the Barbour County Commission, to sign any necessary.
