BOOK 28 PAGE: 525  Barbour County Commission Meeting  Special Meeting March 26, 2024 4:30PM  JAMIE CARPENTER COMMISSION PRESIDENT, DAVID STRAIT COMMISSIONER, JEDD SCHOLA COMMISSIONER, LAURIE AUSTIN COUNTY CLERK, SHANA FREY COUNTYA ADMINISTRATOR  Kim Lewis, Dylan Harper, Corey Brandon  David Strait called the special meeting to order at 4:30pm.  The proposed 2024-2025 Levy Estimate was presented with General County Revenues totaling $5,130,595 and Coal Severance Revenues totaling $365,500.00. Barbour County moved from Class IVto Class III. The Budget estimate includes additional funds allocated to elected official's budgets for the purpose of employee payi increases as well as an increased insurance stipend to offset PEIA premium increases. Budgeted allocations to Volunteer Fire Departments, Libraries, Animal Friends, Barbour County Economic Development, Extension Service, Community Corrections grant match, Tucker Community Foundation Run For It program, Save the Tygart, Barbour County Recycling Center and Hero's Haven were also included. The Levy Rate remains at 12.861 for the 2024-25 proposed budget. The commission met with Elected Officials and organizations and took requests into consideration. Commissioner Strait pointed out that while the Barbour County Ambulance Authority was not specifically included on the presented estimate, it is recognized that there is aj potential needi for additional funds to be allocated beyond the ARP allocation and budget revisions may be required. With not further questions or comments, Jamie Carpenter made a motion, Jedd Schola seconded, to approve the Levy Estimate as presented.
