MADISON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS CANVASS SESSION - Meeting Minutes Board of Elections Conference Room Friday, November 16, 2018  11:00. AM  CALLTOORDER  Chair Smathers called the meeting oft the Madison County Board of Elections to order at 11:00 a.m. at the Board of Elections Conference Room. In attendance were 3 members oft the public; Dyatt Smathers, Chair; Sandra Tolley, Vice Chair; Ray Lewis, Secretary; Jerry Wallin, Member; Kathy Ray, Director;  and Wade Gahagan, Deputy Director.  AGENDA  Moved, Seconded (RL, JW) and Carried (4,0) to approve the agenda.  NEW BUSINESS  The Director provided the DS200 results tapes for the supplemental absentee and provisional ballot counts and the unofficial block style canvass report for comparison with election night results. Moved, Seconded (RL, JW) and Carried (4,0) to approve the block style canvass report. Moved, Seconded (RL,J JW) and Carried (4,0) to approve the state reconciliation worksheet. The Director provided the Board with 1 incident report regarding an incorrect ballot style assignment Moved, Seconded (JW, RL) and Carried (4,0) to approve and certify the election results. Moved, Seconded (RL, ST) and Carried (4,0) to go into closed session for a personnel discussion. Moved, Seconded (DS, RL) and Carried (4,0) to financially reimburse the Deputy Director for Member Wallin announced the swearing in ceremony for elected officials at the Madison County Moved, Seconded (RL, JW) and Carried (4,0) to change the regularly scheduled December 12"h  during ballot duplication.  187.273 acerued compensatory hours. A citizen commended the Board and staff for thel hard work during the relocation oft the Board of A citizen commented that he is curious what the error rate is given all the steps that must be taken to  Elections Office and making it work.  certify an election.  The Chair commented that the elections team works well together.
