Members' Reports: Chair Wallin informed the Board ofa an email request he received for 2016-2018 general elections information. He commented that hel has received several comments from thej public complimenting the Board'sl handling oft the COVID-19 risks and taking care oft the voters and poll workers. Member Ball thanked the office staff for responding timely tol his request for the website to provide al link to DMV's online voter registration application. Member Smathers said poll workers reported tol him that they were paid timely. Director's Report: Thel Director directed thel Board's: attention toi the poll worker infection protection kits provided by the State Board of Elections. She complimented the! State Board's efforts to provide necessary PPE Chair Wallin commented on the Sandy Mush Precinct search for at temporary polling sitei initiated The Director provided the May 31, 2020 budget report and indicated that sufficient funds have been added to the current year's! budget to carry the Board through the June 23rd 2nd Primary Election. The Director will work with the State Board of Elections to reimburse the county for the and sanitation supplies for all the poll workers and: sites. by the current COVID-19 pandemic. professional cleaning services agreement. Discussion ensued. New Business: Moved, Seconded (DS, BB) and Carried (5,0) to approve MarsH Hill Public Library, Hot Springs Community Center, and Board ofl Elections Room 26: as one stop sites for the November 3, 2020 General Election to be open every weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and only on the Thel Director provided the Board with State Board of Elections General Counsel Katelyn Love's Thel Director provided statistics for the 2016 2nd Primary one stop and Election Day voter turnouts. Very few voters utilized one: stop votingi in 2016. The current statistics for the June 23rd Second Primary indicate that voters are responding tot the increase in one stop voting hours and sites. Thel Directori informed the Board that an overflow post office box has been procured due to the anticipated increase in absentee mail-in balloting during the November 3, 2020 General Election. Seventy-five absentee ballot requests have. already been received for the fall election.
