Madison County Board of Elections Meeting Minutes Regular Session - May 3, 2017 The Madison County Board of Elections met on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Board of Elections Conference Room, Room 16. In attendance: Dyatt Smathers, Board Chair; Ray Lewis, Board Secretary; Jerry Wallin, Board Member; Wade Gahagan, Deputy Director; and three members oft the public. Call to Order: Chair Smathers called the meeting to order at 3:00pm. Chair Smathers announced to the Board and Public that Director Ray had personal business and had tol be absent for the meeting. Agenda: Secretary Lewis made a motion: To: set the meeting agenda. Member Wallin seconded and motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes: The minutes were read from the Regular Session meeting on April 19,2017. Member Wallin reported on the status ofHouse Bill 265, which changes the method of Election for the Madison County Board ofEducation. Director's Report: Deputy Gahagan presented the April 30, 2017 budgetreport. Deputy Gahagan presented the. American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) Survey for the Hot Springs Welcome Center, and the required mitigations needed to bring the site into compliance. Deputy Gahagan presented the board requested information dealing with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance, and comparative research done with seven similar counties. Deputy Gahagan updated the board on the process to approve the purchase of new voting equipment. Old Business: board meeting. Other Matters: 2017. Citizen Comments: A citizen commented various issues concerning the bureaucratic process. A citizen expressed concern on the process ofcertification of election equipment.
