Madison County Board of Elections Meeting Minutes Absentee Board Meeting - May 7, 2018 The Madison County Board of] Elections met on Monday, May 7,2018 in the Board of] Elections Conference Room, Room 16. In attendance were: Jerry Wallin, Chair; Dyatt Smathers, Vice- Chair; Sandra Tolley, Secretary; Ray Lewis, Board Member; Kathy Ray, Director; and Donald Wade Gahagan II, Deputy Director. Call to Order: Chair Wallin called the meeting to order at 5:00pm. Setting the Agenda: Member Lewis made a motion: To approval the agenda. Vice-Chair Smathers seconded, and the motion carried unanimously, Member Reports: Member Lewis reported he was very pleased with One-Stop voting for the election. Vice-Chair Smathers reported he visited the former Madison County High School building in Mars Hill. The Vice-Chair reported that the building is currently fully occupied by various entities. Other Matters: A discussion ensued about currently used one-stop sites and precinct locations. Vice-Chair Smathers made ai motion: To approve using Kristi Lusk (Sandy Mush) and Cheryl Ramsey Revere-Rice Cove) as poll worker assistants for the May 8", 2018 primary. Chair Member Lewis made a motion: To approve 6 civilian absentee ballots. Secretary Tolley Vice-Chair Smathers made ai motion: To approve 540 one-stop absentee applications.
